Accomplishments
Since its founding in early 2002, the Arizona Coalition for New Energy
Technologies has played an active role in the state's energy advocacy community.
Some of our coalition's activities and accomplishments are detailed below.
Launch of Arizona Legislature’s Renewables and Energy
Efficiency Caucus
- In early 2002, our coalition helped a group of state Senators and
Representatives launch the Arizona Legislature’s bipartisan Renewables and
Energy Efficiency Caucus. This caucus enables legislators to have accurate and
up-to-date information on new energy technologies from around Arizona.
Sponsorship of Annual Statehouse Briefings on New Energy
Technologies
- Under the auspices of the legislature’s new Renewables and Energy
Efficiency Caucus, our coalition sponsors an annual series of briefings at the
Arizona statehouse featuring presentations by coalition members. These
informational briefings are open to all legislators, coalition members and
interested members of the public.
Participation in Southwest Renewable Energy Fair and
Conference
- Coalition principals Craig Cox and Michael Neary participated in panel
discussions at the Southwest Renewable Energy Conference in Flagstaff in
August 2002. In addition, the coalition had an exhibit at the Southwest
Renewable Energy Fair, also held in Flagstaff after the conference.
Participation in Other Key Events Around Arizona
- On an ongoing basis, coalition representatives take part in key events and
meetings around Arizona, sponsored by industry, government agencies,
universities and non-governmental organizations.
